Anche per la C si chiude un 2020 estremamente complesso. Sarà pur vero che sono stati commessi errori a ripetizione, ma nessuno poteva mai immaginare che un nemico invisibile chiamato Covid potesse stravolgere le abitudini di tutto il mondo, compreso quello dello sport. L’impreparazione iniziale, al netto di tante comprensibili polemiche, merita comunque di essere giustificata. Mettere d’accordo tante teste e provare a far prevalere l’interesse collettivo su quello singolo era impresa impossibile, così come era impossibile trovare soluzioni che potessero mettere tutti d’accordo. Per fortuna, però, lo scorso campionato si è chiuso con il “male minore”: nessun algoritmo (con il Carpi quarta promossa a tavolino: nulla contro i biancorossi, ma sarebbe stato ingiusto), ma almeno la disputa di playoff e playout per dare valore al concetto di merito sportivo. E’ stato l’anno del ritorno in B del Monza a distanza di quasi vent’anni grazie al duo Berlusconi-Galliani, ma anche di altre due nobili decadute come Vicenza e Reggina che, a suon di investimenti e programmazione, hanno riportato in alto piazze prestigiose e di cui il calcio italiano ha assolutamente bisogno. C’è poi l’impresa della Reggiana di Alvini, perfetta nel suo cammino post season e meritatamente vittoriosa nella sfida finale contro il Bari. Giocare senza pubblico e vincere quasi in scioltezza testimonia che, a volte, puntare sui giovani giusti, spendere il necessario e non dilapidare capitali sui cosiddetti “grandi nomi” è una politica corretta, soprattutto in una categoria in cui il calciatore dal curriculum importante spesso fa fatica a calarsi. E, a proposito di Reggiana, la storia di Spanò ha commosso e insegnato tanto: promozione da capitano e migliore in campo e laurea, tutto in 24 ore prima di appendere le scarpette al chiodo pur avendo un’altra decina d’anni di carriera davanti. Un messaggio di speranza per tanti giovani che studiano e si impegnano, ma anche un motivo di riflessione per un calcio che non riesce più a fornire le garanzie economiche di una volta. Fatta questa digressione sulla prima parte dell’anno, ci proiettiamo ora la presente e al futuro. E l’argomento principale è il calciomercato. Prevedere grandi colpi in questo periodo di crisi economica è utopia, fatta eccezione forse per il Bari che ha deciso di intervenire con 3-4 tasselli di valore. Chi primeggia ha già fatto bene a luglio e non ha bisogno di acquistare ancora ,altri apporteranno qualche correttivo senza svenarsi, altri ancora avrebbero bisogno di un’autentica rivoluzione ma dovranno fare i conti con le entrate prossime allo zero e le tante incognite che accompagneranno il mondo dello sport almeno per un altro anno e mezzo. Naturalmente la speranza è che il Governo mantenga le promesse, ma il Ministro Vincenzo Spadafora, assieme ai tanti politici che reggono le fila del Paese, rimarcano spesso che il calcio non è una priorità quasi sottovalutando una vera e propria azienda che occupa un posto fondamentale nel PIL italiano e che consente a tanti giovani (dalla A al calcio amatoriale fatto tra amici sui campetti di provincia) di crescere in modo sano e salvaguardare il benessere psicofisico. La salute viene prima di tutto e siamo d’accordo, ma lo sport può e deve rivestire un ruolo di primordine. Quasi come la scuola. E se gli stadi saranno ancora chiusi, come pare, è doveroso aiutare questi imprenditori che, avessero saputo in anticipo cosa stava per accadere, non avrebbero messo sul tavolo milioni e milioni di euro. Quanto ai gironi, nel raggruppamento A la grande delusione è il Novara. Tanti cambi in panchina, il flop di alcuni giocatori teoricamente di categoria superiore e già sul mercato, l’obbligo di ridimensionare gli obiettivi e puntare alla salvezza. Un peccato per una piazza che, pochi anni fa, disputava il derby piemontese con la Juventus. L’Alessandria di Gregucci, tra alti e bassi, si consolida tra le prime della classe, la copertina dell’anno va indubbiamente ad un Renate che, con risorse non eccessive, ha dimostrato quanto si possa fare bene calcio in un ambiente che non pressa e dà tempo di crescere e anche di sbagliare. Nel girone B vale il principio degli “amori che non finiscono, fanno giri immensi e poi ritornano”. Pillon a Trieste sta facendo abbastanza bene, ma il ds Milanese è molto legato a Gautieri e sta cercando di confezionargli un nuovo ruolo pur di proseguire la collaborazione. Il Padova di Mandorlini non ha rispettato in pieno le attese. La classifica è buona, il primo posto è nel mirino, ma ogni volta che sembra pronta la fuga arriva un passo falso inaspettato contro squadre alla portata. E così anche il Perugia, dopo una falsa partenza, sogna il salto diretto senza passare per i playoff. Come spesso accade, però, gli spunti più interessanti arrivano dal gruppo C e il protagonista è Salvatore Campilongo. La Paganese aveva raggiunto l’accordo su tutto, comunicando a mister Erra il ribaltone tecnico. Dopo la stretta di mano sembrava tutto fatto, ma improvvisamente è stata la Cavese ad ufficializzare il ritorno dell’allenatore. Incredulità e rabbia per la dirigenza azzurrostellata, effettivamente una caduta di stile per un professionista stimato, che ha ottenuto risultati importanti, destinato a far bene ancora una volta a Cava, ma che ha “tradito” la fiducia della Paganese. Fosse arrivata anche una chiamata dal Real Madrid bisognava rispettare i patti, un episodio destinato a far discutere. Così come fa discutere ancora il caso Casertana-Viterbese .Siamo sempre stati dalla parte di Ghirelli e riteniamo fortemente che far proseguire i campionati sia stata la scelta giusta, ma in questo caso andava fatta una gestione totalmente diversa. Rinviare il match avrebbe evitato tutto quel polverone mediatico sollevatosi a livello nazionale, ricordiamo che erano in palio punti pesanti e questa partita, giocata 9 contro 11, rischia indirettamente di falsare la lotta salvezza. Posticipando a data da destinarsi il derby con la Juve Stabia in programma pochi giorni dopo è stato implicitamente ammesso l’errore, si spera che tutto questo possa fungere da esempio per il girone di ritorno. Ghirelli, però, ha svolto un lavoro nel complesso positivo e il rinnovo della candidatura come presidente è il minimo sindacale per chi ha tenuto le redini a testa alta barcamenandosi tra migliaia di quotidiane avversità. La Lega Pro resta un categoria importante, per tanti motivi. E serve un uomo d’esperienza al comando.
