Chiunque sia appassionato di calcio, non può non conoscere e amare la figura di Alex Ferguson, divenuto leggenda negli anni 90 alla guida del Manchester United
Arrivò all’Old Trafford nel 1986, ma nei primi 3 anni non ebbe alcun successo, anzi, rischiò di essere esonerato più e più volte.
Nonostante questo, la società decise di dargli continuità ( il tempo dimostrerà che quella fu la scelta piu giusta che si potesse fare).
Il suo primo successo arrivò nel 1990, vincendo la F.A. Cup per 2 a 1 contro il Cristyal Palace, aprendo le porte a quella che sarebbe diventata una delle pagine più belle e vincenti nella storia non solo del calcio inglese, ma di tutto il mondo.
Alla guida dei Red Devils, Ferguson conquisterà la bellezza di 38 trofei, arrivando a vincere praticamente tutte le coppe esistenti.
Nel 1993, conquistò la sua prima vittoria in Premier League, portando il titolo a Manchester (sponda rossa) che mancava da 26 anni.
L’anno “boom” per Ferguson ed il Manchester United, fu sicuramente il 1999, anno del “Treble”, chiudendo il millennio come la squadra più forte d’Europa.
In quello stesso anno, precisamente il 20 Luglio 1999 fu nominato “SIR” dalla Regina Elisabetta II.
Chiuderà la sua carriera da allenatore nel 2013 dopo 27 anni.
