Un brutto Giugliano cade tra le mura amiche contro il Sassari per 2 a 0 a causa di due calci piazzati trasformati da Scotto nei primi dieci minuti. Ghiotta occasione sciupata contro una diretta concorrente per la salvezza che lascia tanto amaro in bocca ai tigrotti, ultimi in classifica ma con tre gare da recuperare. Un passo indietro fatto dai ragazzi di mister Iacolare dopo la brillante vittoria in rimonta di mercoledì scorso contro l’Arzachena, stavolta il Sassari ha concesso poco in difesa, sfiorando in diverse circostanze anche la terza rete. Giugliano in campo riproponendo otto/undicesimi della sfida contro l’Arzachena con Stendardo che si riprende il suo posto da centrale difensivo, mentre a centrocampo Conte preferito a Castagna ed il classe 2001 De Luca al posto di Osei. Pronti via ed il Latte Dolce passa in vantaggio con Scotto che realizza un calcio di punizione battuto dal vertice sinistro dell’area di rigore che sorprende Piazza. La reazione del Giugliano è affidata ad Orefice che impegna Urbietis in angolo. Il Sassari trova il raddoppio all’8’ ancora una volta con un calcio di punizione trasformato da Scotto, stavolta dai sedici metri, sfera all’incrocio dei pali. Sull’onda dell’entusiasmo, gli ospiti sfiorano la terza rete con Kone che dinanzi a Piazza calcia a fil di palo, due minuti dopo, annullato un gol ad Antonelli per fuorigioco, al 27’ esce per infortunio Abonckelet, al suo posto Cozzolino. Nella ripresa, il Giugliano tenta di fare la partita, al 4’ De Luca ci prova dal limite dell’area, blocca il portiere, mentre al 9’ Urbietis mette in angolo la conclusione di Conte, l’occasione più ghiotta capita sui piedi di Stendardo che all’11’ sugli sviluppi di un corner calcia alto da pochi passi, mentre al 24’ Cabeccia sfiora l’autorete sulla conclusione di Negro. Passano i minuti, inizia la girandola di cambi da una parte e dall’altra ma il risultato non cambia. Prima sconfitta per il Giugliano sotto la gestione di mister Iacolare ma tempo per recuperare le energie ce n’è davvero poco perché mercoledì i tigrotti scenderanno nuovamente in campo in un’altra gara di recupero contro la forte Nocerina impegnata nelle zone alte della classifica.
