Lilian Thuram classe 1972 è un difensore di cui la serie A ha vantato di avere nel suo campionato.
Francese di nascita Guadalupense, fa il suo esordio nel massimo campionato nelle fila del Monaco.
Nel 1996 viene acquistato dal Parma e con i Ducali resta 5 favolosi anni in cui riesce a vincere una coppa Uefa nel 1999 e protagonista di quel Parma più volte vicino alla vittoria dello scudetto.
Giocatore fisicamente impeccabile e tecnicamente estremamente dotato riusciva a togliere palla agli avversari ed impostare in maniera efficace azioni d’attacco per la propria squadra.
Con la Nazionale Francese conquista il primo Mondiale della sua storia nel 1998 in casa in cui è protagonista assoluto in quella semifinale contro la Croazia in cui segna due gol da fuori area memorabili che consentono ai galletti di arrivare in finale e vincere il titolo mondiale.
Due anni più tardi vince quell’ Europeo strappato con i denti ai danni dell’Italia per 20 secondi finali.
Nell’estate del 2001 viene acquistato dalla Juventus con la quale vince scudetti e coppe Italia e supercoppa Italiana, confermandosi il difensore centrale di grandissimo valore.
Dopo la Juventus si accasa al Barcellona con cui continua a vincere ed a confermare le sue doti di grandissimo difensore.
