Il Napoli ondivago di Gattuso, sembra aver trovato finalmente la giusta rotta. Dopo san Siro, i “Ringhio boys”, espugnano anche l’Olimpico, conquistando 3 punti pesantissimi in chiave “Champion’s”. A Roma finalmente recuperano tutti gli infortunati, soprattutto Mertens che, malgrado non ancora al “top” del suo rendimento, sigla la doppietta che rilancia gli azzurri a ridosso delle dirette concorrenti per l’accesso in Europa, vale a dire Juventus ed Atalanta, raggiungendo quota 100 gol in serie A. A Roma funziona praticamente tutto, al di là della scialba prestazione dei giallorossi, ma come mai? Proviamo a spiegare il perché. Si svuota l’infermeria, e si rivede dal 1 minuto la coppia Koulidou – Maksimovic , sulla mediana , recupera Diego Demme in tandem con Fabian Ruiz e soprattutto, Piotr Zielinsky, sfodera una delle sue prestazioni superlative. Al minuto 27, con una grande giocata, porta fuori posizione il difensore giallorosso Ibanez al quale non resta altro che abbatterlo proprio al limite dell’area, laddove, il Napoli ha i migliori specialisti, tra questi Mertens che trasforma la punizione beffando Paulo Lopez sul suo palo. La Roma prova dunque a svegliarsi con una volée in area di Cristante, che Ospina respinge al 37′, la prima e unica chance di una partita che termina 2- 0 per gli ospiti, la cui vittoria, sarebbe stata la perfetta preparazione per la sfida con l’odiata Juventus, ma che con la sosta ed i relativi rinvii, chissà quando si giocherà. Nel frattempo, Gattuso si gode il suo doppio successo esterno, e la sensazione che questo Napoli, possa ancora dire la sua in un campionato che di sorprese, sicuramente, ne riserverà fino alla fine.
